  • Source Code: Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) - OCPP is an open protocol that runs between EV charging stations and the network operator. OCPP is intended to provide a common framework for a single backend solution that can be used with charging equipment from multiple different vendors, enabling greater flexibility for changing business needs. BCIT has developed an OCPP Ecosystem with source code including: backend server; client; user portal; administrator portal; Plugshare integration; PCI compliant payment processing; and check-in terminal.
  • Slides: Project Knowledge Sharing Workshop - On Feb 22, 2018 BCIT presented a full-day workshop including presentations on project outcomes by project team members and a discussion panel by local experts in EV Infrastructure design and planning. The workshop was attended by a full house from local municipalities.
  • Report: Co-authored by BCIT and project consultant AES Engineering. This report identifies and examines some of the barriers to EV adoption, looks at specific examples in the Lower Mainland and Canada, and discusses how challenges are being addressed and some of the drivers needed to accelerate the process. The report also includes description and analysis of tests performed at BCIT to investigate the impact of harmonic distortion produced by electric vehicles on-board chargers, and their potential impact on electrical systems, with particular attention to EV Charger retro-fits in Multi-unit Residential Buildings (MURB). The results are compared with industry standards for harmonics.
